Let there be (flickering) lights

Had another meeting last night with what’s becoming our PAFA installation work group. We’ve been brainstorming ideas for what to install for PAFA at their opening of the work of Henry Ossawa Tanner. So far we’ve been thinking about light and how to make it interactive with user’s cell phones, and touching on concepts of making the invisible visible through various means. The video above provided us some inspiration (and is seasonally appropriate), although it’s not really what we’re going for. Next time we’re going to start messing with some LEDs, some Processing, and hopefully a way to make a light flicker with radio signals (from a model train kit – meant to mimic a campfire). Read more on our google group, or stop by our next meeting at Hive76 on Monday Dec. 12th – 8 pm.
