We offer fun hands-on after school programs for a variety of ages. Kid’s Club is our program for 3rd-5th grade students. Test Kitchen is a similar program for 6th-8th grade students.
Each session provides a fun project that may explore fundamental concepts of:
- Simple machines
- Basic electronics
- Computer programming
- Digital fabrication
- Multimedia production
Students learn how to use a variety of hand and small power tools with close adult supervision. All materials costs are included in the session fee, and students get to take their projects home when finished. We rigorously test all projects so we know they will be fun and reasonably attainable, but we also leave room for failure and experimentation along the way.
All teachers and volunteers are experienced in teaching and working with kids, and are subject to a thorough background check.
Fees: $35 per session. Purchase a package of 6 sessions and save $20.
Upcoming sessions: After school programs for 2016-2017 will start September 15
Pick up details: We can pick up students from Penn Alexander school, SLAMS, Masterman, and Powel with parental consent for programs in West Philly. We will consider offering pick up at other schools in Center City for 3 or more participants.
