Protecting yourself online has come to be a critical aspect of working with technology today. Accessing and publishing personal photos and emails for revenge has become a regular occurrence, large-scale hacking attacks are on the rise, and cheap spyware can be used by just about anyone. If you don’t know much about online security, this is the workshop series for you. Learn about the History of Cryptography, message encryption, how to manage your web presence, how to use tools such as Tails, Kali, and Quebes OS, and much more.

About the Instructor: With more than 10 years of experience in information technology, Charles has held various positions in the field such as Lead Penetration Tester, Technology Manager, Principal Consultant, IP Security System Specialist, and Systems Engineer. He is a Certified Ethical Hacker with extensive experience in offensive security techniques and strategies. Charles has performed extensive research in areas such as the internet of things, penetration testing, software defined radio, social engineering, and physical security. His master thesis research demonstrated the effects physical security systems can play in penetration testing and security assessments.A limited number of $250 scholarships are available for this course. Our selection committee will prioritize scholarship awards to practicing artists, educators, and others who are under-represented in STEM fields.
