Did you read Technically Philly’s State of STEM Report last week? It’s a comprehensive 4-part series that covers the gaps in curriculum, how those gaps jeopardize Philly’s workforce and industry, out of school opportunities to address these gaps, and citizens who are helping out. If this topic makes you want to go out and buy science kits yourself for Philly’s students, there’s also an opportunity to apply to participate in several workshops this spring about innovation in education. Technically Philly has partnered with Teach for America to create the Greater Philadelphia: Innovation in Education workshop series. The workshops aim to figure out what kinds of business models might be able to connect local tech experts and mentors with students. The deadline to apply is this Friday, December 16.
