Intro to Arduino for artists and makers

This is the perfect intro class for anyone wanting to experiment with interactive art, or to make electronic projects using the popular open source physical computing platform called Arduino (www.arduino.cc). You will connect a variety of sensors (light, temperature, sound, etc.) to the Arduino and use them to control a motor, LEDs, and other mechanical devices.

No prior knowledge of electronics or programming is necessary, and all materials will be provided to you as a kit (including the Arduino, a power supply, and a great selection of components for experimenting). You will need to bring a laptop since a host computer is needed to program the Arduino. Some computers are available in the classroom at NTR but it would be much better and more beneficial to you if you used your own computer.

The class costs a total of $200: $75 for the kit and $125 for the full 8 hours of instruction and workshop time (lunch included). The class will take place at NTR (www.ntronline.org) in Center City Philadelphia on 10/18/2008 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
Enrollment is limited to 14, so reserve your spot today!
