Breadboard the nonprofit affiliated with NextFab dedicated to bringing awesome events and opportunities to Philly has a great opportunity for 3-D and virtual artists.
The Virtual Public Art Project allows you to put 3-D structures in virtual space, visible with a smartphone. It’s the next level of public art and presents a fantastic opportunity for public commentary and cheekiness.
Here’s a video that shows how some people used the medium to comment on the BP oil spill.
Breadboard will have a workshop on how to make your own 3-D piece on September 18, from 10 am to 4 pm for those wishing to submit pieces.
Winning submissions will have their work placed around town for DesignPhiladelphia, October 7-17th.
