If you know a young person who wants to get into programming, mark your calendar for this Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm at University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, 3700 Walnut Street. They are hosting Scratch Day, to encourage people to explore Scratch, the graphical programming language developed by MIT specifically for kids. There will be a series of workshops focusing on the use of Scratch to create games, stories, and interactive art projects, as well as focus on the way Scratch can be incorporated into classroom lessons and after-school technology programs. Pre-registration is required, so if you want to go, please email Your Name, Your E-mail and Institutional Affiliation (e.g., School/ Place of Work) to williamqburke@gmail.com.
