draft works Studio Tour April 5

Here’s one of our great events coming up in April. We’ll be heading over April 5, from 6 – 8 pm for a special behind the scenes tour of the design and fabrication studio draft works. If you happened to stroll by the lawn outside the American Philosophical Society last spring, you may have seen a giant white structure that resembled a whale skeleton with planter boxes on it. That structure was fabricated by draft works (you can see pictures on their website). During our tour founder Mike Avery will showcase some recent fabrication projects, (include a brief description and/or links). We will also take a look at some of the larger fabrication tools, such as the CNC router and the software it uses. A brief Q & A session will follow. This event is free.

The studio is located on the 200 block of New Street, directly north of the  Ben Franklin Bridge, South of Vine. Street parking is available.

Space is limited so please rsvp here.
