ISWC 2012 is the sixteenth annual International Symposium on Wearable Computers. This is an area we are really interested in, to experiment with what’s possible, but also, let’s face it, what’s cool. Unfortunately, a lot of “wearable computers” that we’ve seen so far are blinky lights on tacky tshirts. This symposium will cover some interesting specifics on this topic though, like Wearable sensor networks for sensing context-awareness, activity or cognitive state, Wearables for entertainment, and Mobile phones as wearables. We probably won’t make it to the symposium in Newcastle, UK June 18-22, 2012, but if you’re doing research or experimentation in this area you could submit a paper (deadline January 13) or a design (deadline March 25). They will probably post a selection of papers online beforehand as well.
