Cory Doctorow speaks at Penn and Sci Fi convention this weekend

Cory Doctorow is totally Internet famous. He is a co-editor of Boing Boing, that ever-joyous and eye-popping geek news source.  He’s an accomplished sci-fi author:  his novel Little Brother was a NYTimes bestseller, and Makers is a classic with, well, makers.  He’s also a put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is kind of fellow when it comes to copyleft and information liberation, publishing his books under Creative Commons licenses and giving them away.  Lucky us, he’s appearing in and around Philly this weekend!

His first stop is a free lecture at Penn on Thursday that’s open to the public.  It’s at John Huntsman Hall at 3730 Walnut St., room 254 at 5pm.  Next he’ll be at this weekend’s Philcon, the 75th installment of the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society‘s conference on science fiction, fantasy and horror.

You can find out more about Cory and his work on his website Craphound.com, his Twitter feed, at Boing Boing, and by searching for his writing around the web.
